September is a super-powered month that sees the release of this summer's biggest hit movie, The Avengers. If you're looking for a laugh, we've got you covered, with releases of The Five-Year Engagement, What to Expect When You're Expecting and Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3. In the months of June and July, we have been seeing many great DVD movies coming to the Library. Reserve titles now using the Library's new Catalog. Highlights include big comedy releases American Reunion, Casa de Mi Padre, The Three Stooges, Project X, Jeff Who Lives at Home, Wanderlust and 21 Jump Street. June and July also offers some great family films, such as Mirror Mirror, A Thousand Words and John Carter. If you're a fan of live music and comedy, there is no better city to live in than New York City. Every day there is something exciting going on, somewhere in the city. More importantly, a lot of these events are free or very cheap. In the past year, I have seen Foster the People, MGMT, Santigold, Metric, Jimmy Cliff, Matt & Kim, Crystal Castles, the Roots and the Silversun Pickups for absolutely free! I have also seen Lewis Black, Jim Gaffigan, Patton Oswalt, Janeane Garofalo, Wyatt Cenac and many more perform stand-up for $5 or less! Even better, sometimes these events also have free food and drinks. Keeping in the spirit of the Library to provide excellent free or cheap resources,

Highlights include remnants of the waning teen glistening vampire craze, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part I. Harold, Kumar, White Castle burgers, and Christmas Adventure? Count me in. The mission statement of the #LaughLibrary is "to assemble for the public a collection of the Library's funniest DVDs, CDs, and books, by the world's greatest comedians." The #LaughLibrary puts these comedic materials in the forefront.

The collection of CDs, DVDs, and books associated with the Staten Island rap group is curated by Dongan Hills Library staff members Imer Ardolic and Steve Herman.
