Sloane Crosley comes to Books at Noon this week to discuss her latest book, The Clasp.

When and where do you like to read?

At home (could be my home, could be someone else's) or in a park. I don't do particularly well with the coffee-shop thing.

What were your favorite books as a child?

The Secret Garden, The Once and Future King, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.

What books had the greatest impact on you?

The Dubliners, Lolita, Birds of America, Without Feathers, The Necklace and Other Stories, anything by Dickens.

Would you like to name a few writers out there you think deserve greater readership?

David Rakoff, Jim Shepard, Katherine Heiny, Meghan Daum.

What was the last book you recommended?

The Sellout by Paul Beatty.

What do you plan to read next?

Local Girls by Caroline Zancan.
