CMP: Home Health Aide Training
CMP (formerly Chinatown Manpower Project, Inc.) is recognized as a leading workforce and economic development organization in the New York City community. CMP promotes economic self-sufficiency and career advancement through equipping individuals with job & educational skills, credentials, leadership qualities, and entrepreneurship opportunities. CMP works with all segments of society, with a distinct track record serving the Asian American community.
If you are receiving food stamps (but not cash assistance) then you qualify for free Home Health Aide (HHA) training at CMP in lower Manhattan.
This is one of the fastest growing jobs in New York City as the population ages and the healthcare system changes. You can learn more about the occupational outlook for Home Health Aides from the Occupational Outlook Handbook 2014.
Training runs Mondays through Fridays for 6 weeks, and includes test prep then taking the Home Health Aides certification exam.
Students learn about direct care techniques such as taking vital signs and assisting with personal hygiene and nutrition.
The training is a parternship between CMP and Progressive Home Health Services, and students who become certified will have access to job openings through both agencies.
For more information call CMP at 212-571-1690, or email info@cmpny.org.
