SIBL Participates in New York Business Expo & Conference

On October 30, 2014 SIBL's staff members once again participated in NYXPO at Javits Center. For nine years, this event has been the Northeast’s largest business to business trade show, conference and networking event for business owners and executives. NYXPO is the only one day event of its kind that provides small & mid-sized businesses with unparalleled opportunities to grow their businesses.

NYXPO included the largest and most comprehensive business to business Exhibit Hall in New York! It featured more than 250 Exhibits of business products, services and solutions. The exhibit hall was open to all expo participants. It offered attendees a highly efficient “one-stop” opportunity to demo the latest products and purchase essential business services, including; software solutions, health insurance plans, mobile apps, financial tools, advertising platforms, office space, legal consultations, office supplies and so much more.

The Business Resource Pavilion brought together experts from over 20 leading city, state and federal agencies to provide useful information and business resources from around New York. Small business owners had access to a range of programs and services on important business topics, including procurement, financing, taxation, licensing, trade, business planning, etc. This was the place to uncover actionable real-world opportunities, valuable information and to enjoy quality one-on-one meetings designed to help grow businesses. In this setting SIBL's staff set up a desk and promoted print and electronic collections, services and programs offered at the library, including our NYC Small Business Resource CenterNew York StartUP! 2015 Business Plan Competition, and Blueprint for your Business Future

NYXPO also offered 38 Business Seminars designed to sharpen participants' skills in social media, sales, advertising, technology, accessing capital, healthcare, mobile, global trade and more. There was also Social Media Lab which educated business owners on new media tools as well as provided short demos and direct consultations regarding what social platforms are most appropriate for businesses to engage with their customers.
