Community Training and Employment Resources: Free Training Programs
Community Training & Employment Resources helps underemployed and unemployed New Yorkers prepare to succeed in today's very challenging job market. CTER programs benefit job seekers, workforce professionals and employers.
CTER will offer the following programs in September and October, and encourage referrals to these free training programs.
Initiative for Veterans, members of the National Guard and Reserve
CTER has conducted a pilot program for veterans and based on what we learned, our design team created a short term program to help this population get back into the job market. It will include 15 hours of classroom training, with a three-hour orientation session at the start of the program. At the end of the training, CTER will offer ongoing support which include mentoring and career development. American Society for Training and Development (ASTD - NY) and HR- NY will assist with the delivery. HSBC Bank will host the training.
Professional Development Series for youth 17-24 years old
CTER Professional Development Workshops help young adults, 17-24 years old, improve their employability skills, learn how to develop positive relationships with coworkers and supervisors and prepare for career development. The workshops are designed and presented in collaboration with the American Society for training and Development (ASTD-NY). TD Bank will host the workshops.
