Cakes, Pies and Cookies! Oh My!

By Jonathan LondonBy Jonathan LondonHave you ever had a slice of cake or pie for lunch? I hate to admit it, but it is a guilty pleasure that I have partaken in numerous times.

Red Velvet, German Chocolate, Lemon Meringue and Strawberry/Rhubarb are just a few of my favorites. Next time you have lunch, have dessert first. The children in your life will get a kick out of mixing up the menu.

Schwarzman Building. Make sure to stop and take a look at the old lunch boxes and artifacts from the Automat. Do not forget to pick up a complimentary recipe card for Pumpkin Pie.

Here are some booklists to help kickoff your "dessert for lunch" adventures.

Hi Ms. Lareau! So sorry I missed this wonderful posting at the time. I too, often have dessert before the main course. It is fun to mix up the order of things sometimes. And I saw the Lunch Hour exhibit and loved the nostalgic exhibits and the black and white film playing of Joan Crawford at an automat. Matter of fact, I had to go twice to see it all! Thanks a bunch. I frequent the Schwarzman and am looking forward to following your blogs.
