Intellectual Property Day at SIBL
We're just starting to get the word out — November 8, 2011 will be a day to explore Intellectual Property protection when the Science, Industry and Business Library hosts a visit from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Our friends from the Patent and Trademark Resource Center Program will be here to to present a day-long seminar covering IP protection topics, as well as offer pointers on searching for patents and trademarks on the USPTO databases. Overall this should be a great opportunity for anyone who wants to learn about protecting their intellectual property — inventors, entrepreneurs and other businesspeople, educators, legal professionals or anyone else who has an interest in patents or trademarks.
Sorry, though — T. Markey (over there on the right) won't be able to join us this time. But we still expect to have some great sessions!
Sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m. (the Library will be open to the public at 10 a.m.) and continue until about 3:15 p.m., with a break for attendees to go out and get lunch. We'll post a complete schedule soon.
Pre-registration for this event is highly recommended; walk-ins will be accomodated to the extent space is available. To register, please e-mail siblreservations@nypl.org.
We hope you'll be able to join us on November 8!
Oh — here's a link to information about the Trademark Expo coming this October.
