Stuff for the Teen Age

The Writers' Club Kicks Off @ Teen Central

On Wednesday, November 10th, Teen Central's newly formed Writers' Club held its first meeting in Grand Central Library's second floor Community Room.

Hip-Hop artist and educator M.C. K~Swift introduced himself and then shared writings from his journal with the other members of the Writers' Club.

High school senior Celeste Pajotte, who dreams of becoming a published writer, read from her novel-in-progress and discussed the process of writing it.

Lois Stavsky, a NYC-based educator, spoke a bit about oral history, and read an excerpt from her book, The Place I Call Home: Faces and Voices of Homeless Teens.

I offered feedback to all, and promised to share my writings in future meetings (I promise!). The atmosphere was fun and friendly.  Everyone is welcome to join this exciting club that meets Wednesdays from 4-5:30 in Grand Central Library's Community Room.
