The Undercover Muffins: Summer 2010 Wrap-Up!
It's the end of the summer. Time for falling leaves, pumpkins, and going back to school. This week The Undercover Muffins, Jefferson Market's Teen Book Club, reflected back on summer with their favorite books, music, and movies from the "season of sun."

"Eclipse was not what I expected it to be but it was far more better than New Moon. My opinion is that the book turned out to be better."

"The best book I read over the summer was probably 7-Up by Janet Evanovich. It follows the bounty hunter Stephanie Plum as she attempts to apprehend fugitives who skipped their court date. It's mainly about the attempted apprehension of one main fugitive, her (many) fails in catching him, as well as, trying to balance her family and personal life while trying not to get killed at the same time."
"My favorite song over the summer was "Careful" by Paramore. I always went on the computer occupied with Facebook and YouTube. On YouTube I would watch Cobus, a drummer, who did a drum cover of that song. It was very great and awesome. The song was very exciting and the music was capturing. The singer did good too, but I was really in it for the drums."

"Sold was a book that included sex trafficking and also religious views. The book is about a young girl that was sent to the city to work as a "maid" but ends up as a sex slave. This young girl goes years with torture and sexual intercourse, without access to her family and friends. She was treated as an animal and not a human. She was in a house with many other women. Some have kids and/or were there to make a living."
"Over the summer, My favorite song to listen to was "How Low" by Justin Nozuka. Both the lyrics and the music create some sort of calming mood. I often listened to this song while I was cleaning my room or writing in my journal. The song helped to trigger my thought process and it created some sort of mood within me. When I listen to this song and the way Justin sings it, I feel like I can feel what he is saying and how he's saying it. I can imagine what it is that he's saying or describing. I love this song and the way he sings it!"
