Stuff for the Teen Age
Kingsbridge Teens' Picks from the Stuff for the Teen Age 2010 List
Teens at the Kingsbridge Library have a LOT to say about DVDs, games, and graphic novels on the Stuff for the Teen Age 2010 List.
Glee
You know that wistful sighing noise that girls make sometimes? The sound they make when the sun comes out from behind the clouds, the boy / prince / sparkly vampire of their dreams is walking towards them (smiling and/or sparkling at them), and they just know that a happy ending is in sight? Well THAT'S the sound that the girls in my Teen Advisory Group make whenever I mention Glee.
Left 4 Dead 2
One of the boys in my Teen Advisory Group is a big fan of this game. His favorite part? When he got to kill the zombies with a frying pan.
Tyranny
This graphic novel, about a girl whose bad self-image is so powerful that it becomes its own character, is a compelling read. When one of my teens started reading it, she was unable to put it down. She said it was one of the best books she’d ever read, and when I asked her what was good about it, she said, EVERYTHING.
