So, what’s your name?

Stephanie.

And what do you do for a living?

I actually work for the Brooklyn Public Library.

Oh really? Are you a librarian?

No, I’m not. I work for the literacy program. I’m an educator.

That’s interesting! What are you doing in another borough’s library today?

Well, actually I had an appointment in the Village and I’m on staycation so I’m just walking around and I saw this building. I actually read about it in Let’s Go New York or one of those tour guides about New York City and the building looked really cool and pretty so I decided to just come in and check it out.

Do you think you are going to check out any books today?

I might, but I don’t have an NYPL card, only a Brooklyn card. So I can’t take out anything with my Brooklyn card, right?

Well, you could get a NYPL card.

Do I need a letter or something? Can I just show my BPL card?

You need ID but if you show your card, they can link it so you can use it here too.

Oh cool! Maybe I’ll get a card today. That would be cool!

Update!

Stephanie was later spotted holding a pile of DVDs... Looks like she ended up getting an NYPL card after all!
