The first two women of the nation’s highest court could not have been more different: Republican and Democrat, Christian and Jew, western rancher’s daughter and Brooklyn girl. Yet in their shared obstacles, they tackled the most controversial issues of the twentieth century. In conversation with Library Council member Tali Farhadian Weinstein, Linda Hirshman will discuss the impact of the first female justices of the Supreme Court and their unlikely friendship, as chronicled in her book, “Sisters in Law: How Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg Went to the Supreme Court and Changed the World."
