On Monday, November 3, 2014 The New York Public Library will celebrate its 2014 Library Lions: Margaret Atwood, Dave Eggers, Kazuo Ishiguro, Robert B. Silvers, and Anna Deavere Smith. A truly brilliant group of honorees. 

The New York Public Library has long served as a home for millions of New Yorkers in search of knowledge, and the tools to create new ideas and new lives. In an increasingly connected society, seekers from around the globe are able to benefit more than ever from NYPL’s resources, and we are proud to serve them in our role as the world's great public library. None of our work would be possible without the support of our outstanding family of donors. Proceeds from Library Lions go directly to support the Library's meaningful work in our 88 branches and four research libraries.
