The Interview with José Molina, conducted by Meira Goldberg, was audio recorded on May 18, 25 and June 1, 2010.
In this excerpt, José Molina remembers teaching Sevillanas in Miami, Florida, and the resistance he at first encountered from his students. Molina also discusses the importance of the use of the castanets and the challenges in learning to play them well.
The Oral History Project Interview with José Molina was made possible with assistance from the New York State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. You can read the transcript of this interview in its entirety on-site on the third floor of the Library for the Performing Arts. The full audio file requires permission of Molina in order to access. Interview with jose Molina

Why is it that Meira Goldberg is interviewing Jose Molina.. she clearly knows nothing about flamenco, she interrupts him, not with intelligent questions she should have taken the trouble to prepair.. all she can do is make a strange laughing sound. Typical rubbish that one has come to expect from the staff at the 'Library' .. 'A center for learning'.... which is staffed by illiterate fools. Tragic.
