The Interview with José Molina, conducted by Meira Goldberg, was audio recorded on May 18, 25 and June 1, 2010.

In this excerpt, José Molina remembers teaching Sevillanas in Miami, Florida, and the resistance he at first encountered from his students.  Molina also discusses the importance of the use of the castanets and the challenges in learning to play them well.

The Oral History Project Interview with José Molina was made possible with assistance from the New York State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.  You can read the transcript of this interview in its entirety on-site on the third floor of the Library for the Performing Arts.  The full audio file requires permission of Molina in order to access.  A description of the interview, including a content summary, can be found here.
