The Dance Oral History Channel: Douglas Dunn Interview, Excerpt

The Interview with Douglas Dunn, conducted by Joan Arnold, was audio recorded on May 1, May 15 and June 22, 2009.

In this opening segment of the interview (approximately 66 min.), Douglas Dunn speaks about his childhood in then-rural Palo Alto, California including his early education and memories.  He recalls his parents, his sensuous appreciation of life and nature as a child, and the experience of working with cattle and horses. Dunn remembers his first experiences with dance and his developing perceptions of his relationship to American culture.  He remembers his interest in sports and moving to the East Coast to attend Princeton University.
