Join Karen Gisonny, Helen Bernstein Librarian for Periodicals, in the DeWitt Wallace Periodical Room, for a conversation with New York muralist Richard Haas and mural conservator Cassie Myers.  Richard Haas was commissioned in 1982, by NYPL, to create 13 wall murals for the Periodicals Room, which was undergoing a major rennovation and would be named in honor of DeWitt Wallace. He chose as his subjects the iconic New York City buildings that housed newspaper and magazine publishers at the turn of the century. Cassie Myers, a specialist in mural conservation, recently spent a week at NYPL cleaning and repairing the Haas murals. Come celebrate the 30th anniversary of the murals and the man who created them.
