The Anti-Prom, organized by Young Adult Programs, provides an alternative, safe space for all teens who may not feel welcome at official school proms or dances because of their sexual orientation, the way they dress, or any other reason. This year’s event took place on Friday, June 12, in Astor Hall at the Stephen A. Scharzman Building, and was guest hosted by Tim Gunn, of Project Runway and author of Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste, and Style, and Austin Scarlett, fashion designer and a former Project Runway contestant.

In Episode 1, watch as six teens visit the Library’s Art & Architecture Collection and its Picture Collection to research outfits they’ll be designing for the event. In Episode 2, Tim Gunn meets with the teens to critique their work. The final episode showcases finished designs and Vam-Prom.
