Scope/Contents Note

This is a synthetic collection consisting of manuscripts, a typescript, and correspondence. The manuscripts comprise essays and stories, including the travel book, "Remote People," and the typescript is entitled "Literary Style in England and America." The correspondence, dating from 1923 to 1968, includes letters from the author to Penelope Chetwode, Daphne Vivian Fielding, Anne Fremantle,Christopher Sandford, Vernon Watkins, and the editor of "The Tablet," as well as letters from the publishers Chapman and Hall to Humbert Wolfe, dating from 1923 to 1926, relating to the author.
