Scope/Contents Note

This is a synthetic collection consisting of typescripts and correspondence. The typescripts include poems with the author's manuscript corrections. The correspondence, dating from 1965 to 1994, includes letters from the authorto Bernard de Zogheb, Judith Moffett, Howard Moss, WilliamDe Witt Snodgrass, and others. Also present is a letter from 1975, from Christopher Isherwood to Judith Moffett, relating to the author. There are letters to Merrill from Chester Kallman, Judith Moffett, Marianne Moore, Peter Salus, and Lola Szladits, dating from 1954 to 1994.
