Scope/Contents Note

Collection of literary works written by Congolese civil servants for the Foire Coloniale de Bruxelles consisting mostly of folk tales of various ethnic groups. There is also an autobiographical article by Raphael Mutombo, and ascrapbook of mounted clippings from the newspaper L'Etoile,consisting of the story of Chief Samba-a-Kya-Buta founder of the Kinda kingdom, written by Bonaventure Makonga. Alsoincluded is a notebook of folktales of the Baluba people with transcriptions of Baluba sayings that relate childhood retentions of elders' tales, written by Benoit Nyengele.

Annual literary fair held in Brussels, Belgium for the Belgian colonies.
