The article dated 1906April 15, clipped from the New-York Daily Tribune, gives ahistory of performance of music by American composers witha list of first performances of music by 35 composers.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Manuscript Society of New York was founded in 1889 by 4 American composers. At its meetings new American compositions were performed, usually from the original manuscripts under the direction of the composers.
