Scope/Contents Note
Collection contains manuscript and printed transcripts andcolored maps of the New World. Manuscripts are 18th-century French transcripts of Alexander VI's Papal Bull "Des isles du nouveau monde"; and Bartolomé de las Casas's"Tyrannies et cruautés des Espagnols". Printed transcript is extract in French of de las Casas's "Relation des découvertes et des voyages que les Espagnols ont faits dans les Indes". Also, one colored map, 1703, of Mexico and Florida; and one of Paraguay, Chile and Argentina (Terre Magellanique).
