Scope/Contents Note
Collection consists of organizational records of the Triangle Film Corporation, the Reliance Motion Picture Company and other film studios. Triangle records, 1915-1920, contain items such as minutes of board of directors,cash books and accounts. Reliance records, 1914-1923, include minutes, journals, cash books, ledgers, and related financial papers. Other film studios represented in the collection are K-T Film Distributing Corporation, Keystone Film Company, Majestic Motion Picture Company, New York Motion Picture Corporation, Serial Publication Corporation, and Tri-Stone Pictures, Inc.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Triangle Film Corporation and its subsidiaries, the Triangle Film Service (Canada), the Triangle Distributing Corporation and the Western Triangle Distributing Corporation, represent some of the major New York-based motion picture companies for the period 1912-1925, known as the classic era of silent movies.
