Scope/Contents Note

The Adah Fogel papers contain correspondence and literary translations, 1949-1969. Most of the material pertains to Fogel's research for Irving Howe in preparation for his book World of our Fathers. The collection contains seven letters from Howe (1968-1969 and undated), along with two from David Rudkin pertaining to a proposed Royal Shakespeare Company production of The Golem. Also includedis Mrs. Fogel's translation of Zavl Rimer by her father, Menahem Boraisha, a writer and editor for the American Jewish Congress.
