Scope/Contents Note

Collection consists of correspondence, press releases, bulletins, lists of district leaders and votes, resolutions, pamphlets, and other printed matter. Materials chiefly deal with the suffrage campaign in upstate New York, the Johnstown (N.Y.) Convention of 1917,the Suffrage Campaign Conference of 1917, and the New YorkState equal suffrage referendum of 1917.

Biographical/Historical Note

The New York State Woman Suffrage Party was a branch of the National American Woman Suffrage Association which wasformed in 1890 to reunite the suffrage movement and to coordinate the suffrage campaign.
