"On the death of Mary Rhoads wrote on the 25 of December 88" : holograph poem signed, 1788.

Nine quatrains in ink, on laid paper : (MISC 0988) : begins, "Ah! busy Memory how sharp thy stings / When Joys departed are the painful theme ..."; inscription followingpoem reads in full, "To S. Rhoads this simple effort of anHumble Muse is / sent by her very sincerely sympathising /H. Montgomery."
H. Montgomery, Mary Rhoads and S. Rhoads remain unidentified.
