Collection consists of correspondence, reports, programs, and other papers relating to "pilot intensive projects" atEtawah and elsewhere in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India,collected by Mayer, originator and principal consultant onthe project. Papers were used as source material for Mayer's 1958 book Pilot Project, India.

Biographical/Historical Note

Albert Mayer (1897- ) was an American architect, city planner and engineer. He was appointed planning advisor to the government of Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1947 to study rural development in the region.
