Scope/Contents Note
Collection consists of manuscripts, script materials and other items pertaining to Harrigan's plays. Manuscripts include holograph and typescript versions (some with manuscript revisions), carbons and fragments of plays. Also, programs, costume lists, stage designs, and printed songs.
Biographical/Historical Note
Edward Harrigan (1845-1911) was an American playwright, actor and producer. He worked as an actor and comedian inCalifornia and New York. In New York he managed several theaters and wrote many plays about various ethnic groups in New York City.
