The collection consists of an account book from an unnamedmerchant, who dealt in a variety of items such as Dutch lace, leather goods, vegetables, dry goods, and other sundries. Names recurring in the accounts include Mrs. [Charles Ward?] Apthorp; Nicholas, Samuel, and William Bayard; John, Oliver, Peter, and Stephen De Lancey; Captain Thomas Gamble; Leonard Lispenard; Abraham Lott; James Rivington; Col. [Beverly?] Robinson; Sir John St. Clair; Col. Roger Morris; and Capt. [Thomas?] Sowers. Locations of customers noted within the accounts include Westchester, New York; Amboy, New Jersey; and Manhattan.
